Joel Edgerton Has a One-Night Stand… And Sells It!

One-night stands have a bittersweet feeling to them. The spontaneity, passion and flare that inevitably accompany them, make them an interesting subject. However, the pain and confusion that comes with the morning that lies ahead is a totally different story!

Joel Edgerton seems to be very well aware of all the dynamics of a one-night stand. Before you jump to conclusions about the actor actually having had one such temporary liaison with one of his many female admirers, let me tell you what this is all about.

The veteran actor, who has carved a niche for himself as one of Hollywood’s most desirable men, is exploring new ventures as a screenwriter; the first of which is a movie by the name ‘One Night Stand’. Unfortunately for his fans though, the actor will not be seen starring in the movie, but will simply be a part of its credits.

Talking of the screenplay, Joel says that he has attempted to write a story about what happens after a one-night stand. We can’t help wondering where Joel’s deep knowledge of the subject comes from!

The previous year didn’t seem to be a lucky one for the actor, as both his ambitious projects, ‘Warrior’ and ‘The Thing’ failed to receive the critical acclaim that he had been hoping for. This probably explains Joel’s decision to try his hand at writing.

The movie’s producers, New Regency, seem to have loved what Joel has written, since they have already bought the rights for the movie, which is now in its pre-production phase.

Interestingly, this is not the first time that Joel has forayed into writing. His previous attempts include ‘The Square”, which managed to etch a mark, albeit in limited circles.

However, this does not mean that Joel has bid adieu to his career as an actor. In fact, he has some rather interesting releases coming up this year, which include “The Great Gatsby” and “The Odd Life of Timothy Greene”. Now this is one man to watch out for!
